DO YOU KNOW WHO'S VISITING YOUR COMPUTER?! General Warning/Survey/Q for ALL, & another lovely Q for you GEEKS!

OK, so my computer WAS SICK SICK SICK, but now, with help of great folks here, it's doing BETTER! :)

But I'm wondering if others out there are aware of who all comes knocking at your computer from all over the world: every day, every hour, every moment, every milisecond! :P

I found out Comcast had McAfee available FREE to ISP subscribers, so I downloaded it.

If YOU HAVE McAfee (or I suspect this option's available on other AntiVirus software also) click to view your Inbound traffic logs. Click the M on your toolbar to open McAfee, then click Reports and Logs, then click View Log, then click Inbound Events.

What do YOU see? ;)

Here, there are repeated strings of first ten, then five recurrent hits, each entire group of 10/5 always happening within 1 to 2 seconds. On McAfee, click TRACE THIS ADDRESS %26amp; watch it ping node-to-node from here to MYANMAR! :P *sigh*

I got 42 pages in 3 days! Do YOU have this level traffic? Does yours include *visits* FROM your OWN COMPUTER!?

DO YOU KNOW WHO'S VISITING YOUR COMPUTER?! General Warning/Survey/Q for ALL, %26amp; another lovely Q for you GEEKS!
Quick Uninstall McAfee, that will solve all your problems
Reply:That's rather verbose and a bit confusing... If your computer was infected the only real way to be sure it's clean is to have a security professional look through it or the easiest is to reinstall windows and before you even plug it into the internet install antivirus and a firewall. Then after you plug it into your modem and it's connected do a windows update for all the latest patches.

Internet Explorer has a lot of security holes, use something like Firefox to browse the web.

It's not uncommon to see connection attempts to computers. I see hundreds and sometimes a thousand or more a day in my firewall logs. That's the internet, just go prepared and don't click on links in your emails warning you about viruses.

Your computer also has a private address called a loopback (normally 127.0.0.1) that it can use to talk to other programs on itself.

Which is more user friendly , Corel Draw or Paint shop, and why?

We are planning to upgrade our softwares for the web/graphic designers, I have also generated a survey amongst those who are concerned, I am also anxious about which is more economic, since all our softwares should be licensed as per ISO. I was just wondering if we should go for Corel Draw latest version or stick with Paint shop.

All opinions are welcomed.

Which is more user friendly , Corel Draw or Paint shop, and why?
First of all i am not a designer but a programmer.

I used to see CorelDRAW Suite with most of designers and rest with Adobe Photoshop (Not Paint shop).

IMPORTANT : If u mentioned CorelDRAW as CorelDRAW Suite the it contains Corel Photopaint which does same purpose as paintshop. The program CorelDRAW is a vector graphics(wmf etc.) tool and paintshop is a raster graphics (bmp, jpg etc)tool. Adobe Illustrator is does the same function as CorelDRAW Does.

NEVER THINK THAT CorelDRAW and Photoshop(Paintshop) does same functions

The choice depends on to which interface the designers at ur firm is more familiar. Even with a small increase in investment ur designers may work faster than u expect if they get the right familiar tool.
Reply:I think Corel Draw is more user friendly. We can make any shape very easily by nodes, I think its the best. I am using it only. There many good templates. Paint Shop is also good. I think you must go for Corel X3.
Reply:Not sure what are your requirment in your job but in my view both are best at their places. like in editing of photo's and desiging Photoshop is best But if you want to create new objects corel draw is best.

My suggestion is that you just go with your old software first understand the working of Corel then change it but also have photoshop.

hope its good
Reply:just stick with Paint shop there is no necessary tool that

will improve a design then the designer itself

and imagine to work with something that you are not familiar with.

"tools only help, don't depend on them"

Would is your biggest question about the law of attraction?

Hello Everyoane !

The Law of Attraction is great . It completely changed my life !

That’s why I intend to release a software based on the “law of attraction”

I have literally been working on this software for more than 10 months now.

I am really close to finishing it, but before I launch it, I have to ask you a couple of questions. Can anyone help me out with an advice ?

I would really appreciate your help. I will send anyone who is willing to help me with some suggestions a FREE copy of my software (when it’s done)

===%26gt; This is my software web page http://www.successplanpro.com

Please visit this website to complete the 5 question survey.

Everyone who send me some suggestions will get a free copy .

PS: (I am making this special offer only for the yahoo answers readers)

Thanks a lot !

I appreciate your help

Would is your biggest question about the law of attraction?
My biggest question about the law of attraction is, "Gee, is there some kind of software or something based on the law of attraction that I could some how get, or download, or buy?"
Reply:Are you advertising your product here%26gt;?

LOL @ Jemrx!!!
Reply:Why people are so drawn to the physical when choosing someone to be with for life. I mean at first meetings and on the surface I get it, but in the long run would you rather be with someone who is nice to look at and dumb as a rock, or someone with who you enjoy spending time with, have things in common, and can stimulate you intellectually.

Which engineering discipline is the hardest?

Hi,

I'm tryin to do a survey to see which engineering discipline is the hardest and which one is the easiest?

The common engineering discipline:

Mechanical

Computer

Software

Electrical

Chemical

Physics

Civil

Thanks

Which engineering discipline is the hardest?
You can make just about any topic "hard" if you go to a high enough level.

If I had to pick one, I'd say chemical. First off, there is the chemistry which is hard in iteself. Add to that the control and dynamic aspects of a large chemical processing system. Mix in a bit of risk in designing VERY expensive processing plants and hoping it works. And top it off with the danger of having a chemical explosion that could wipe out entire neighborhoods.

For risk and technical complexity, I vote for Chemical.
Reply:Hardest - Biomedical (not on list, but my school had it)

Easiest - Civil
Reply:Well, I don't think you can really rate them by saying some are hard and some are easy.

Look at the pay scales you'll see that Chemical has the highest starting pay. But that's really about supply and demand. I graduated in chemical engineering, but I always liked chemistry and enjoyed the engineering part. So its not hard if you're interested in it.

All engineers in my day had to take some basic courses in mechanics of materials and statics. That stuff was hard for me, so civil would have been hard for me because I wasn't interested in it.
Reply:Either Computer or Engineering Physics (properties of high energy and nuclear systems).

Both use super level mathematics and require a pretty high degree of unconventional thinking.

Civil can be difficult due to the requirement of getting certified and staying proficient enough to continue in certification throughout your career.
Reply:It all depends on what you like doing. You did forget one of the major ones in your list; Aerospace. It also depends on the teachers in the program. I wouldn't recommend trying to pick a future career by easiest or hardest. I was always told Civil was easier, however I'm more of a mechanical person so the Mechnical field came easier to me. All of my buddies say Mechanical is the hardest if you need an opinion for a survey. It's all about what you like and dislike so you can't assume everyone thinks the same thing.
Reply:Trivialities and hardness are not dictated by COURSE CONTENT but your level of apprehension and interest..because some teacher %26amp; professors make hardest things so simple and some ruthless profs make life worse.
Reply:hardest = electrical %26amp; computer system

easiest = civil

i'm in civil and i would say civil can be easy. it's still a lot of work, but if you love being out on the field and seeing how things are built/design...go for civil.
Reply:I have an electrical engineering degree and civil. Although I think that schooling for electrical engineering is more difficult. Civil is more difficult as a profession. In order to be a civil you need to have a license, which makes you legally responsible. Electrical engineers have it easy at work playing with diodes, electrodes. Civil is hardest as a profession.
Reply:production , mechanical engg are the toughest
Reply:the actual course work of all of these are similar up to a point and then after the 2nd year they diverge and become fairly specialized. mechanical is very similar to aeronautical and physics. All of these require a fairly high level of math (less so with chemical I think). differential equation is commonplace in mechanical and electrical when you have to solve systems. Interestingly, mechanical systems can be modeled the same way an electrical circuit can be. The problem with classical mechanical methods for solving problems is that they are often very simplified. In most cases a real problem is not as simple as a book problem and numerical methods must be used. One thing to consider is that electrical engineers are often working on cutting edge stuff. What has really revolutionized the computing world was not so much the microprocessor (although it played its part certainly), but it was the ability to store huge amounts of information in minuscule amounts of space. Thanks the electrical engineers for that. But thank the mechanical engineers (and actually the chem e's too) for actually making them because without advanced manufacturing processes, the storage systems are just neat theories.
Reply:It depends on your abilities and your Threshold of pain.

For some, elctrical is hard, or confusing becuase it is as if you were being thought in another language... the language of computers, technology, and mathematics!
Reply:coal shoveling
Reply:If you don't like to memorize, CHEMICAL is the HARDEST because a lot of chemical name to remember

If you like to memorize, PHYSICS is the HARDEST because it is depends on logic and imagination
Reply:Its a question relative to your natural interests and abilities. So there is no one definite answer.

My opinion is that electrical engineering is the hardest because of the amount of mathematics electrical engineers use in formulating and solving problems. In my opinion, mechanical is the easiest because you can easily visualize what you are studying and trying to solve- ie. it is most adept to man's everyday experience with the world around him!

Hope that helps.!

What percent of your pc is stolen software?

what programs are they and does anyone have 100percent tell me the truth do you use cracked programs this is for a survey so no jokes please

anybody bought a pc off ebay and realize the windows were not genuine

What percent of your pc is stolen software?
like 0%

I use demos and open source software if I can't afford it.

anyways, do you really think people will admit to using stolen software?

The answers is no
Reply:I use only paid and free software. If you pirate something you can't get updates or support for it. You might even be opening your computer up to spy ware and viruses. To me it's worth the few extra dollars to have peace of mind.
Reply:0% stolen software on my machine. I paid for everything on my hard drive. Only exceptions would be freeware, and I usually make a donation if asked.
Reply:at the moment, I'm using Linux and open source software so 0%

When i use Windows, I tend to pirate stuff more

Before i discovered open-source, 100% of the software on my computer was pirated
